Upgrades to items give players the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done by any item upgrader NPC.

Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide additional benefits based on the type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for caster builds.

Armour

Armour is among the most important factors that keep Link protected from damage in most situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in a variety of ways to improve its defence capabilities.

The principle of armour is to shield animals or people from physical harm or injury in the form of direct physical attack or from an array of dangers to the environment or activity. In the past, most armour was made of leather or fabric, but metal protections were also utilized in military applications, particularly such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.

As with weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armour can be upgraded, however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades and more will provide higher levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and other materials to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place they aren't able to be removed unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have all the components required to complete them.

You can find the upgrade components you require in a variety of places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They're usually identified with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol. They can be found in great numbers as you progress. Although they can appear randomly, there is the possibility that obtaining certain upgrade components will trigger an adventure that rewards you with more.

It's important to keep in mind that even though the amount offered by each upgrade could differ but it will always be more than zero. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks including magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.

Weapons

If you want to make your guns truly distinctive, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. These upgrades can increase the damage or change the stats of the weapon to match your build. They can also unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, different types of ammo, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll need an upgrade component available and the item upgrading. The weapon should also be above a certain level for the upgrade to be effective and most weapons can only take one upgrade at one time.

You can find weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and even from the hands of enemies, or they can be purchased from vendors. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra impact while they're being used. The equipment must be a certain level to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Upgrades are a combination of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to improve the stats of weapons and increase their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be obtained from enemies dropped in the open, bought from a few merchants or found from combat.

Two NPCs can enhance your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.

It's important to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, followed by items that you won't need to replace soon. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for instance upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest followed by your hands and feet. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your style of play, certain items will be more useful than others. Armour is no different, with some Reforges being better than others.

Magic Items

A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can have additional benefits.

A magical item is an item that has some special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they can also be armors, shields, cloaks and potions. They could also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Some of these items can be made sentient.

Most magical items can be upgraded to be enhanced with new abilities. This makes them more useful to a player or help players overcome difficult situations. Infused weapons can offer bonus damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached a level where they're likely to face a single type of monster in the dungeons.

A ring infused with magic may provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or anyone who wants to get rid of the expense and hassle of buying a shield.

Some enchanted items have special abilities which allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's list of spells. This is helpful for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table that is based on the number of Intelligence points expended.

Other items that are enchanted can allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create an entirely new appearance. These items are particularly useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home, or are located in an area where they may not be welcome. An enchanted item might provide them with an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to all other than a selected person.

Utility Items

Utility items are those that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have various capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item upgrader mod is able to be in conflict with another. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them, however, some come with additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses an action button or activates an ability.

The most popular type of utility Best item upgrader is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. The majority of utility items boost a specific combat attribute or give the player some kind of navigation advantage. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other items of utility such as Writs or Theses crafted by the Scribe can be used to give players either a boost in damage or condition damage.

XCOM soldiers can equip a single utilitarian item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available once you have completed certain research, engineering, or experiments on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be added by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This permits players to use a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
