World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the level of the item.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an Best item upgrader for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to change an item upgrade's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by adding a name.

At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another thing that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is more useful in early game runs since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item upgrader up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations to how much success rates can be increased and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader (Marvelvsdc.Faith) CORE client config.
