How to Replace an audi car keys replacement G28 Engine Speed Sensor

jaguar-logo.pngIn this video, Charles the humble mechanic demonstrates how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is situated on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via the grey wire T55/49 and then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

It is located on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear, the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends an electrical signal to ECU pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate fuel, timig and boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to correlate with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and the position of the camshaft, so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumped chain link in the upper timing chain. However, the code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It can be a bit difficult to test since there are different pins on the connector, and each has its own functions. The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read around 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. Examine for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed, i noticed a huge reduction in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was unclean. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when I start the engine with no sparks, the ones with gazoline jump out. The fourth one remains shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car replacement key for audi a4 cover audi advance key; click the following web page, will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not sure what to do, but i feel i have pretty much ruled out everything else. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal sent by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or in a local parts store. Test them out - put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's end). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines requires to be aware of the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding fuel injector timing, etc. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If either of these sensors go badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner which could cause engine shut down.

A malfunctioning G28 sensor could cause an inaccurate gearbox speed counter, a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, and/or an unfire when in gear. It is possible that the sensor is failing and requires to be replaced if you experience any of these signs. The good news is that they are very cheap and easy to find particularly when you're looking at the Bosch unit which is what ours are. You can also choose the GM version of this unit is also a good option.

5. Tachometer

A malfunctioning engine speed sensor could be the cause of many issues in your car. It's an essential component of the audi tt replacement key's transmission since it relays information to the ECU about how fast or slow the vehicle's crankshaft is rotating. This sensor could cause the transmission to malfunction and other car components to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49, via an uncolored wire. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate the flow of fuel and boost as well as timig. It also transmits it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer, between the ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection via pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see an average resistance of 1000 ohms between these points. This is a standard part that is found across the audi replacement key cost uk 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC until the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones could be available in wrecking yards.SEAT-Logo-2019.jpg
